About us
Aczel Marine is a privately owned, small but dedicated firm of general shipwrights, glaziers and cabinetmakers, based near the big boating precincts of the northern Gold Coast of Queensland.
Owners George and Jennifer Filippow established the business in 1986, and since then have built a substantial reputation in all facets of marine maintenance, construction and restoration from small sailing craft to ocean-going luxury and cargo vessels.
They offer a mobile service to all marinas in South East Queensand or wider afield for major jobs.
Apart from their expertise with modern boating and sailing materials, Aczel enjoys a well earned reputation for boat restorations, and there are many classic wooden or fibreglass pleasure boats and yachts still plying Queensland waters that owe their new lives to their craftsmanship.
George Filippow and some in his team are also experienced blue water sailors, having crewed in many off-shore events around Australia, and taken part in their own yacht, Havachat, or their Flying Fifteen off the Gold Coast.
Aczel Marine enjoys good working relationship with most of Queensand's marinas and shipyards, where the majority of their practical work is carried out.
One of the company's specialities is Flexiteek decking, the original Swedish synthetic marine decking used by many international shipbuilders. Flexiteek Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aczel Pty Ltd.
Being appointed sole Australian distributor of Flexiteek was a natural extension of the extensive range of shipwright services covered by Aczel, including decks, windows, interior and exterior renovations and equipment installations.
The actual manufacture of Flexiteek decks and flooring is carried out in a well equipped factory with large layout tables not far from the Gold Coast's major boating precinct at Coomera, just around the corner from the famous Sanctuary Cove on the northern Gold Coast.
Aczel Marine works closely with professional associates working in electrics and electronics, engineering, upholstery and sails and boat owners can feel confident that recommendations of contractors in other fields will be professionally handled. The boat owner maintains control by dealing direct with recommended contractors.
